You Were Born an Adult?

anti-kid-personal
My biggest problem with people who seem to flat out hate kids is that they act like they were never young at all in their entire life. Like oh, you came out your mom with a 401k and a mature attitude towards life? Okay, I don’t think so because I know some pretty immature adults out there who have a disdain towards children. So I can’t imagine they were that grown all their lives. That’s not to say that some people can be telling the truth when they present that factoid about themselves, but I’d be willing to call bullshit on at least 99.9% of them because kids are supposed to be horrible. It’s in their DNA. We’re supposed to be some level of a monstrosity growing up because we lack the common sense not to be. Hell, even though I was a pretty quiet kid who favored playing alone to being a part of a large, loud group – I would never say I wasn’t a brat. I threw my fair share of fits back in the day…throughout college and even some today. So I could never say I hate kids because they’re a nuisance because I was once one myself and have not forgotten that.

Born Without the Need to Spawn

anti-kids-interview
Little girls are often given dolls in order to place some sort of thought into their heads that a baby is what they should strive to have one day. For Denise, it was just a toy and she just played with it when her friends were around, never giving it much thought. She admits that the biological clock others her age speak of must’ve never developed inside her because she doesn’t feel like she’s missing out by not having kids right now, and she is firm believing that she will never yearn to be someone’s mother because when you boil it down – she just doesn’t care all that much for kids. In fact, she didn’t even like them when she was one of them. That’s where we started this and along the way we talked about the stigma people like her face, if she likes kids even a little and more.

We’re here, the final month of topics and really the last chapter I think you hit in many books on adulting; kids. In a bit of a twist though we’re starting out with a week talking about not wanting kids. Despite the flood of baby pictures on Facebook and Instagram, some people are not into that world – at all. This of course is because of a variety of reasons. Some just loathe kids, others don’t feel they have that nurturing gene and some people like me…we’re a bit selfish.

The Marriage Situation Coalition

the-big-bang-theory
TV and movies usually give us a casing of what marriage is without diving too deep because let’s face it, we don’t really want to watching every aspect of someone else’s life. Okay, maybe reality TV debunks that statement but when I sat down and tried to think of one show or movie to showcase – I came back a little stumped. Hence, this being a day late. So sitting on the bumpiest bus and actually writing with a pen and pencil –  I went with The Big Bang Theory because it’s a show I as much. Plus, they have two married couples I love to dish about.
